THE MEANSTREETS TOOK ON GRASSROOTS CANADA ELITE IN THE 17U DIVISION

The Meanstreets out of Chicago Illinois took on Grassroots out of Ontario Canada in the 2010 Pump N Run Best Buy Tournament.

The Meastreets started out the game in a half court defense. For the Meanstreets they wanted to get the ball into Aqui Shareef’s hands. He found his shot on the low block. The players were able to feed the ball to him on the low block and he was able to knock it with ease.

The Meanstreets were able to string some baskets together midway through the first half.

Grassroots didn’t back down they were able to defend off the attack by the Meanstreets.

The first half was close and competitive. Neither team was able to go on a substantial run in the half.

In a half that went back and forth Grassroots led 38-33.

As the second half got underway both teams came out on fired up.

Neither team was able to go on a run in the second half. The game remained close.

Grassroots played aggressive man-to-man defense.

The game came down to the wire. Neither team was able to go on a run in the second half. The game went into overtime. The game was tied at 78 after the first overtime so there was another overtime period.

In a very tight double overtime time game Grassroots came away with the 82-80 victory.
