In the third game of the day it was a game with an international flair. Team Saskatchewan out of Canada took on the Wolf Pack out of Belgium.
As the game began there was an obvious language barrier between the coaches. Once the coaches met at half court at the beginning of the game I noticed that the Wolf Pack coaches were sitting in the stands right above the player’s bench. Most of the coach’s coach their team from the bench.
Both teams started the game really scrappy as players dove on the ground for loose balls.
Team Saskatchewan used a full court press and they wanted to get the Wolf Pack team off of their game plan.
The Wolf Pack guard Marquindy Verbrugge ran their offense. He made sure that he got his players in the correct spots on the floor. He was also able to create his own shot.
For Team Saskatchewan they looked for Joe De Ciman to run the offense. He did a good job of that. They were able to go on a run midway through the first half. There was nothing that the Wolf Pack could do.
At halftime the score was Team Saskatchewan 31 and The Wolf Pack 12.
As the second half got underway The Wolf Pack came out on fire. They were able to go on a run to open the second half up. They didn’t let up. They were shooting the ball from all over the court and they were making their shots that they were putting up.
Team Saskatchewan really took it to The Wolf Pack in the second half. The Wolf Pack didn’t give up they kept on shooting the ball.
The Wolf Pack made a run late in the half. Even though they were not able to catch up to Team Saskatchewan they made a valiant effort.
Both teams played really well but in the end Team Saskatchewan was too much for The Wolf Pack to handle.
Team Saskatchewan was able to come away with the 55-46 victory over The Wolf Pack.
