ANOKA TOOK ON HOPKINS IN A GIRLS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Anoka and Hopkins went up against each other in a girls’ basketball game. Both teams looked to push the ball down the floor.
 
Hopkins got hot early as they had a 10-3 lead with 14:14 left in the first half.  
 
Hopkins pushed the ball down the floor and was able to get easy shots throughout the first half. They were able to slow Anoka down on offense.
 
The Hopkins defense created a lot of problems for Anoka. Anoka was not able to hit shots in the first half. They were able to get shots off but were not able to hit them.
 
Anoka was able to get their offense going midway through the first half. 
 
The game got close the last 5:00 of the first half. Both teams settled down as they let the game come to them.
 
At halftime the score was Anoka 33, Hopkins 25.
 
As the second half got going the score went back and forth. Neither team went on a run.
 
The defense applied by both teams made it difficult for the other team to make open shots.
 
Hopkins got the lead late in the second half. Anoka ran out of gas late in the second half.
 
Anoka was up early and often in the first half. They were not able to make free throws in the second half. Hopkins turned on the jets late in the contest.
 
Hopkins came away with the 68-57 victory over Anoka.
