UNDERWOOD TOOK ON GRAND MEADOW IN THE CLASS 9 MAN STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Underwood and Grand Meadow went up against each other at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. Grand Meadow kicked off to Underwood to start the game. Underwood punted on fourth-and-two.
 
Grand Meadow was able to move the ball down the field as they kept it on the ground. Landon Jacobson picked up a first down on the ground.  Grand Meadow continued to pound the ball down the field as Jacobson was able to get another first down. Grand Meadow found the endzone on a Trenton Bleifus five-yard run. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 1:37 left in the first quarter the score was Grand Meadow 7, Underwood 0. That was the score after a quarter of play.
 
Both teams had trouble moving the ball down the field in the second quarter.
 
Jacobson kept on rushing the ball down the field. The Underwood defenders had a hard time of slowing down Jacobson.
 
Grand Meadow Bleifus completed a pass to Blake Olson for a 36-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was no good.
 
With 39 seconds left in the second quarter the score was Grand Meadow 13, Underwood 0. That was the score at halftime.
 
Underwood kicked off to start the third quarter.  Grand Meadow looked to get the ball into the endzone midway through the third quarter. Jacobson scored on a five-yard rush. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 7:44 left in the third quarter the score was Grand Meadow 20, Underwood 0.
 
Underwood got the ball after the touchdown.  They had to punt on fourth down.
 
Grand Meadow was intercepted by Olson. That gave Grand Meadow the ball on the 30 yard line.
 
They kept the ball on the ground as they looked to get the ball in the endzone late in the quarter.
 
They had to punt the ball on fourth down.
 
After three quarters of play the score was Grand Meadow 20, Underwood 0.
 
Grand Meadow found the endzone as Bleifus on a 33-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good.
 
The score with 8:49 left in the fourth quarter the score was Grand Meadow 28, Underwood 0.
 
Underwood found the endzone on an Adam Creek pass to LeRoy Hauge for a 32-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was no good. With 4:24 left in regulation the score was Grand Meadow 28, Underwood 6.
 
Grand Meadow was able to shut down the Underwood offense. Bleifus was all over the field for Grand Meadow. He played well as he was able to get into the endzone and came up with some big plays for his team.
 
Grand Meadow came away with the 28-6 victory over Underwood. After the game I was able to talk to Bleifus and head coach Gary Sloan about the game.
