Lester Prairie and Robbinsdale Cooper went up against each other in boys basketball game. Both teams pushed the ball down the floor as they looked for easy baskets.
Cooper did a good job of spreading the floor and running down the court. They were able to make layups in the first half.
Cooper guard Taron Pickford was all over the floor. On the offensive end he was able nail shots from inside the three-point line as his teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
Lester Prairie was not afraid to attack the basket.
Both teams were able to push the ball down the floor as the pace of the game picked up midway through the first half.
Cooper made it difficult for Lester Prairie to make shots in the first half as the defense that was applied was relentless.
At halftime the score was Cooper 32, Lester Prairie 26.
Lester Prairie strung baskets together at the start of the second half.
Lester Prairie had a difficult time hitting shots in the second half. They were able to get open looks at the basket but were not able to make shots.
Neither team backed off taking shots.
Lester Prairie made a run at Cooper late in the contest. The score with 1:08 was Cooper 67, Lester Prairie 64 when Cooper called a timeout.
Both teams continued to look for their shots late in the contest. Cooper came away with the 74-66 over Lester Prairie.
