APPLE VALLEY TOOK ON DELASALLE IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Apple Valley and DeLaSalle went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. DeLaSalle took their time on offensive end.
 
Apple Valley’s Tyus Jones set up plays that he wanted to run.
 
Defense was the key early as neither team was able to get shots off.
 
Jarvis Johnson made some good moves to the basket. He was able to beat his defender off the dribble and make shots.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. There were many ties and lead changes
 
The game got physical. Both teams looked for fouls but the referees let them play.
 
Johnson for DeLaSalle was able to get to the basket and hit shots that he put up.
 
Tre Jones got into the game late in the first half. He was able to create offense as his brother Tyus looked to feed him the ball when he was open.
 
Apple Valley got the lead late in the first half.
 
At halftime the score was Apple Valley 36, DeLaSalle 28.
 
Apple Valley continued to get good shots in the second half.
 
DeLaSalle’s Geno Crandall was on fire he was able to step up and hit shots from everywhere on the floor.
 
Apple Valley’s defense was too much for DeLaSalle. Apple Valley was able to make it uncomfortable for DeLaSalle on the offensive end.
 
Robert Tobroxen for Apple Valley knocked down some big shots. He was not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor.
 
DeLaSalle got hot and scored five baskets in a row. Then Dennis Austin for Apple Valley nailed three three-point shots in a row.
 
DeLaSalle seemed to get a lot of energy late in the contest.
 
Apple Valley came away with the 73-63 victory over DeLaSalle.
 
The leading scorers for Apple Valley were Jones with 29, and Trent Jr with 18.
 
The leading scorers for DeLaSalle were Crandall with 23 points, Johnson with 14 points and Sacar Anmin with 14 points.
 
After the game I was able to talk to Apple Valley’s head coach Zach Goring about the game. I was also able to talk to Jones about what it was like playing in this game.
