EAGAN TOOK ON ANOKA IN A BOYS STATE SOCCER GAME

Eagan and Anoka went up against each other in the state boys soccer state quarterfinals at Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School.
 
Both teams did a good job of moving the ball down the field and getting everyone in the plays.
 
Anoka’s Donnie Guimont came up with a goal with 29:38 left in the first half.
 
Anoka Miguel Martinez-Urrutia came up with a goal with 28:54 left in the first half.
 
With both of those goals by Anoka that make the score Anoka 2, Eagan 0.
 
Eagan’s Ryan Conroy came up with a goal with 17:51 left in the first half.
 
With that goal that made the score Anoka 2. Eagan 1.
 
Both teams continued to attack the net late in the half.
 
In a very close game throughout the first half, at halftime the score was Anoka 2, Eagan 1.
 
As the second half got underway Eagan looked to move the ball down the field and were able to get everyone involved in the offense.
 
Neither team gave up easy shots on goals. Eagan was all over the field. They kept on attacking the net on the offensive end.
 
It was a hard fought game but in the end Anoka came away with the 2-1 victory over Eagan.
 
With that win Anoka will face Minneapolis Washburn in the state semifinals on November 2, 2015 at St. Cloud State University.
