WINONA STATE WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY IN A FOOTBALL GAME

Winona State kicked off to Concordia to start the game. Concordia kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. Concordia’s Jason Oney came up with a few receptions that kept the chains moving. Concordia kept the ball on the ground mostly on their first drive. Concordia fumbled the ball and Winona State recovered it.

Winona State took over on their own 18-yard line. Winona State couldn’t get their offense to move down the field. On 4th-and-7 they punted the ball.

Concordia took over on their own 39-yard line.  The Winona State defense stepped up big and was able to get to the quarterback. On 4th-and-17 Concordia punted.

Winona State took over on their own 35-yard line. Winona State used quick slant passing routes to move the ball down the field. Alan May for Winona State came up with receptions that helped move the chains. Winona State quarterback Jack Nelson knew where his teammates were on the field and he was able to get them the ball in spots where they could make plays.

Concordia called a timeout with 2:26 left in the first quarter. The score was tied at 0.

Winona State’s Jack Nelson found Josh Mikes for a 7-yard touchdown reception. Carter McCauley’s extra-point attempt was good.

With 2:18 left in the first quarter the score was Winona State 7, Concordia 0.

Concordia got the ball back after the touchdown and then Concordia fumbled the ball and Winona State recovered the fumble. With 1:59 left in the first quarter Winona’s Eirc Birth ran for 5 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 1:59 left in the first quarter the score was Winona State 14, Concordia 0.

Concordia took over on their own 25-yard line because of a touchback.

After one quarter of play the score was Winona State 14, Concordia 0.

Concordia punted the ball to start the second quarter. Winona State over on their own 20-yard line.

Winona State’s Paul Peterson came up with huge runs that moved the offense down the field.

Winona State’s McCauley attempted 23-yard field goal which was good. With 12:42 left in the second quarter the score was Winona State 17, Concordia 0.

Concordia once again tried to move the ball down the field on 4th-and-6 Concordia punted the ball.

Winona State took over and move the ball on the ground. Winona State found the end zone again with 9:08 left in the second quarter on a 65-yard touchdown reception from Jack Nelson, pass complete to Josh Mikes. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 9:02 left in the second quarter the score was Winona State 24, Concordia 0.

Concordia fumbled the kickoff and Winona State took over on the Concordia 18-yard line.

Winona State move the ball down the field as gain as May continued to come up with catches. Birth ran 3 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 7:57 left in the second quarter the score was Winona State 31, Concordia 0.

Concordia took over on their own 25-yard line. Concordia tried to move the ball down the field as they went to the air. On 4th-and-10 Concordia punted the ball.

There was a flag on the return. Winona State took over on their own 17-yard line. They were able to move the ball down the field as Peterson and Birth were able to fend off defenders. May was able to catch balls in traffic.

Winona State found the end zone again with 1:18 left in the second quarter on a 5-yard touchdown reception by Cameron Johnson reception. The extra-point attempt was good. With that touchdown that made the score Winona State 38, Concordia 0.

Concordia took over on their own 23-yard line. Concordia’s Alquwan Vickers came up with receptions in traffic. The defense had a tough time bringing him down.

At halftime the score was Winona State 38, Concordia 0.

Concordia kicked off to start the third quarter. The ball went out of bounds so Winona State took over on their own 25-yard line. Winona State went back to the air attack as they got everyone involved in the offense. Nelson found mikes for a 13-yard first down reception. Paul Preston came up with a huge run for a first down that put the ball on the 2 yard line. Preston got a 2-yard touchdown run with 12:24 left in the third quarter. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 12:24 left in the third quarter the score was Winona State 45, Concordia 0.

Concordia took over on their own 19-yard line. They were not able to move the ball and they punted the ball on 4th-and-6.

Winona State took over on their own 43-yard line. Mitchell continued to come up with big receptions. He was also able to keep his feet moving after the catch.

Winona State attempted a 35-yard field goal which was good.

With 7:48 left in the third quarter the score was Winona State 48, Concordia 0.

Concordia’s Alex Carr came up with a 34-yard run that punt the ball on the Winona State’s 41-yard line. Concordia turned the ball over on downs.

Winona State punted the ball on 4th-and-6. Concordia took over on their own 18. Concordia’s Vickers caught a 34-yard pass for a first down that put the ball on the 50-yard line. Concordia moved the ball down the field late in the third quarter. Concordia’s Schramski found Russell in the end zone for a 15 yard touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 3 seconds left in the third quarter the score was Winona State 48, Concordia 7. That would be the score after three quarters of play.

Winona State took over near midfield. Winona State offense marched down the field as they looked to get into the end zone early in the fourth quarter. Winona State scored a 19-yard field goal.

With 10:14 left in the fourth quarter the score was Winona State 51, Concordia 7.

Concordia took over on their own 19-yard line. Quarterback DeCeon Schramski wasn’t afraid to run with the ball if he thought that he had room to run. Concordia moved the ball down the field in the fourth quarter. Concordia running back RaQuan Cunnigan came up with a first down run. Winona State intercepted the ball on the 15-yard line.

Winona State kept on the pound and ground style of play that they were playing throughout the game.

They didn’t back down to the Concordia defense. Winona State punted on 4th-and-4.

Concordia took over on their own 28-yard line. Concordia fumbled the ball and Winona State ran out the clock.  

Winona State came away with the 51-7 victory over Concordia.
