GIRLS CLASS A SOCCER SEMI FINAL CLOQUET AND BLAKE

In the second semi final game it was Cloquet and Blake. Before the game started the Cloquet fans stood up and sang the national anthem on their own.

Both teams came out and played very strong to begin the game. Both teams played very solid defense
With 5:51 left to go in the first half Carrie Markusen scored a goal for Blake and Andi Frost got the assist.
At half time the score was Blake 1 and Cloquet 0.

As the start of the second half got underway each team played very aggressively as they each tried to score goals.

Neither team let down as they each continued to play hard aggressive soccer. At 22:15 Cloquet’s Emily Johnson scored a goal. The net was wide open. Blake’s goaltender was on the other side of the net when Emily scored the goal.

With that goal the score was tied at 1.

With 15:11 left in the second half Blake’s Lydia Sutton scored a goal and Meghan Bauer got the assist.
With that goal the score was Blake 2 and Cloquet 1.

Blake won the game and they will play Orono in the finals. I was able to talk to Blake’s head coach Paul Menge and midfielder Morgan Oie about the game.
