THE FRESHMEN OF PARTICK HENRY AND DELASALLE BATTLED IT OUT ON THE BASKETBALL COURT

The DeLaSalle Islanders faced off against the Patrick Henry Patriots in a boys’ basketball game. The first game pitted the two freshman teams. DeLaSalle’s freshman team was coached by David Collier.

Both teams looked to push the ball up the court to begin the game. DeLaSalle used a motion offense to begin the game. They looked to pass the ball around and they set a lot of screens. They were able to make some shots in the early going and were to jump out on top of Henry early in the first half.

Henry went on a run midway through the first half. DeLaSalle did a good job of pushing the ball up the court in transition.

Henry didn’t press too much in the first half. They did play solid half court man-to-man defense. DeLaSalle did a good job on the offensive end.

Both teams played extremely hard defense in the first half. Neither team was able to make stops on the defensive end.

At the end of the first half the score was Minneapolis DeLaSalle 24 and Minneapolis Patrick Henry 26.

As the second half got underway DeLaSalle came out and wanted to try to get the upper hand. Henry had different plans though as they put the pressure on DeLaSalle from the beginning.

Throughout the second half the score went back and forth. Neither team was able to go on a run in the early goings of the second half.

Henry played some zone in the second half. They were able to slow DeLaSalle down in the second half. Both teams went into a scoring drought midway through the second half as neither team was able to score.

The game was close throughout. Neither team was able to go on a run throughout the game. The game came game down to the wire. DeLaSalle was able to come away with the 59-52 victory over Minneapolis Patrick Henry.
