ST. PETER TOOK ON THE ROCHESTER LOURDES IN THE STATE CLASS AA QUARTER FINAL BASKETBALL GAME

St. Peter took on the Rochester Lourdes in a class AA quarterfinal action. St. Peter was able to come out on fire and drop the first 9 points. They had a 9-0 lead with 13:53.

Rochester kept fighting. They were not going to let down. They played multiple styles of defense. Nothing seemed to be working.

Rochester was able to get into the game. They were able to slow down St. Peter. St. Peter was able to distribute the ball fairly well throughout to everyone on the court. Everyone looked to shoot the ball.

At halftime the score was St. Peter 22 and Rochester Lourdes 21.

As the second half got underway both teams came out fired up and with a lot of energy.

Both teams battled hard throughout the game. The game was close. Neither team gave up. They were diving on the floor for loose balls.

The score went back and forth throughout the game. Both of these teams played very tough strong defenses. They both played man-to-man and zone defenses.

Both Laura Melquist and Shelby Hanson really stepped their play up throughout the game. They found their shots early on and they were hot. The game came down to the wire.

The Rochester Lourdes came away with the 49-42 victory over St. Peter. The leading St. Peter in scoring was Katy Kuiper with 15 points and Tailor Raymond with 9 points. The leading scorers for Rochester were Laura Melquist with 21 points and Shelby Hanssen with 15 points.

I was able to talk to the Rochester head coach Myron Glass about his team’s victory.
