LAKEVILLE NORTH MET CHASKA IN THE MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE GIRLS BASKETBALL SEMI FINAL IN CLASS AAAA

Lakeville North and Chaska took to the court in the Minnesota State High School League girls state basketball class AAAA semi final game. Lakeville North came in with a 30-0 record and Chaska was a 23-6.

Lakeville North started out in a full court press. They wanted to try to get Chaska out of rhythm early on.

Both teams played very good defense. Chaska was able to push the ball up the court in transition. They did a really good job of getting the ball to their guards.

Lakeville North was able to go on a run midway through the first half. Chaska went cold midway through the first half. They were not able to slow them down.

Lakeville looked really good on the offensive end. At the half they had a 34-14 lead over Chaska.

As the second half got underway Lakeville North came out on fire. They were able to make shots.

Ellen Degler of Wayzata got hit in the nose with an elbow. She ended up breaking her nose and did not return to the game.

Lakeville North looked very good in the second half. They were able to go really hard after the ball. But they were not able to make a shot.

Chaska was way over matched in this game. Lakeville North came away with the 76-46 victory over Lakeville North.

Lakeville North was lead in scoring by Rachel Banham with 17 points, Apiew Ojulu with 10 and Cassie Rochel with 12 points.

After the game I was able to talk to Lakeville North’s head coach Andy Berkvam and Lakeville players Cassy Rochel, Rachel Banahm, and Apiew Ojulu.
