Rochester Lourdes took on Minnehaha Academy in the semi final contest of the girls’ state tournament.
Both teams came out and applied a lot of pressure throughout the first half. Minnehaha Academy was able to come out strong and knock down shots.
Minnehaha was able to go on a run early. Rochester played with a lot of enthusiasm throughout the first half.
Minnehaha was able to make shots in the first half.
At halftime the score was Minnehaha Academy 31 and Rochester Lourdes 20.
Both teams came out wanting to push the ball the court out of the halftime. Minnehaha went on a run to start the second half. They didn’t want Rochester to creep back into the game.
Minnehaha was way too aggressive and they were able to hold off Rochester in the second half. Minnehaha’s Analisa Ballinger played really well throughout the contest. She was all over the court. On the defensive end she was all over the place. Her defense was outstanding.
Minnehaha was able to come away with the 65-50 victory over Rochester Lourdes.
After the game I was able to talk to Minnehaha Academy head coach Josh Thurow and Minnehaha players Rachel Hanson and Analisa Ballinger.
