Irondale traveled to Fridley for a boy’s basketball contest. Irondale had a record of 15-10 coming into the contest. Fridley had a record of 7-15 going into the game.
Irondale came out of the gate playing zone defense. Irondale put on the full court press on the first defensive possession. They switched between man-to-man and zone defenses a lot in the first half.
On the offensive end Fridley passed the ball a lot. They used a motion offense. Fridley looked to push the ball up the court. As soon as Irondale made a shot or misfired Fridley looked to grab the ball and get the ball up the court as quickly as they could.
Irondale looked for all of their players to score. They were able to find their shots early on in the contest.
Ericson Saye for Fridley found his shot early in the contest. He also played very good on the defense end. Devin Hemmerich also found his shot in the early goings.
Fridley’s shots went flat with about 5 minutes left in the first half. They were not able to make shots that they were taking.
Irondale used a multitude of defensives and were able to control the tempo in the first half.
At the half the score was Irondale 25 and Fridley 19.
As the second half got underway both teams continued to play aggressively. Irondale made some quick shots.
Irondale used a motion offense in the second half. They passed and cut a lot.
Irondale played zone in the second half. They made Fridley extend the floor.
Both teams played extremely well throughout the game. Neither team gave up. In the end Irondale was able to come away with the 63-47 victory over Fridley.

Fridley has a hell of a coach, tall good looking, great shape and well dressed.
