MINNEAPOLIS NORTH WENT UP AGAINST RUSHFORD PETERSON IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 31, Minneapolis North took on Rushford-Peterson in a boys’ basketball game. Going into the game Rushford-Peterson came into the game with an overall record of 19-1. North came into the game with an overall record of 17-3.

North started out in man-to-man defense. Rushford started in a zone defense. North looked to get the ball in the low block to Odell Wilson. Wilson looked to make layups.

Both teams played with a lot of intensity in the first half.

North looked to drive to the basket and make layups in traffic. North’s Jamil Jackson came up with mid-range jump shots. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

North went to a zone defense. That created problems for Rushford. Rushford had trouble attacking the basket against the North’s zone.

Rushford got looked to get the ball into the hands of Alex Vix. Vix came up with deep 3-point baskets.

North called a timeout with 8:33 left in the first half. The score was Rushford 17, North 15.

The score went back and forth for a period of times late in the first half.

Both teams were able to take a lot of time off the clock late.

At halftime the score was Rushford 40, North 28.

As the second half got underway Rushford continued to look to get the ball into the hands of Cole Kingley and Matt Culhane both came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

North looked to take deep 3-point baskets in the second half. Jackson came up with mid-range jump shots.

Rushford was able to get the ball into the hands of Cole Kingsley and Matt Culhane. Kingsley and Culhane got hot and came up with mid-range jump shots.

North called a timeout with 8:33 left in regulation. The score was Rushford 60, North 44.

Rushford was quicker than North. North didn’t back down to Rushford’s defense. Rushford was able to come up jump shots and layups.

Rushford came away with the 81-66 victory over North.

The leading scores for North were Tyler Johnson 12 points and Jamil Jackson both had 12 points.

The leading scorers for Rushford were Jacob Merchlewitz with18 points and Charlie Krambeer with 17 points.
