PRIOR LAKE WENT UP AGAINST LAKEVILLE NORTH IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Feb. 20 Prior Lake took on Lakeville North in a boys’ basketball game. Lakeville North looked to push the ball down the floor and score layups in transition.

Prior Lake’s Austin Heidecker came up with mid-range jump shots. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in in the paint where Heidecker came up with layups.

The score went back and forth in the first half. Prior Lake’s Isaiah Sims was able to slow down his guy who he was guarding.

Prior Lake called a timeout with 10:58 left in the first half. The score was Lakeville North 12, Prior Lake 9.

Prior Lake’s Sam Schultze came up with 3-point baskets and layups. He was able to get past his defenders and get to the basket.

Prior Lake played zone defense. They wanted make Lakeville North take deep shots.

Both teams took a lot of time off the clock by swinging the ball around the 3-pint line.

Lakeville North’s Connor Flack came up with some huge mid-range jump shots and layups.

Prior Lake passed the ball around the 3-point line as they were able to take a lot of time off the clock.

At halftime the score was Lakeville North 27, Prior Lake 24.

As the second half got underway both teams continued to attack the basket and looked to make shots.

Lakeville North’s Carter Brooks came up with layups and mid-range jump shots to start off the second half.

Lakeville North continued to get the ball into the hands of Flack. Flack got hot midway through the second half. He came up with mid-range jump shots. The Prior Lake defense had a hard time slowing down Flack.

Prior Lake went on a scoring drought midway through the second half. They had trouble hitting their shots.

Prior Lake’s Isaiah Sims came up with layups and jump shots late in the contest. Prior Lake did a good job of getting Sims the ball where he could shoot it.

Lakeville North called a timeout with 5:18 left in regulation. The score was tied at 46.

The score went back and forth late in the contest. Neither team went on a run.

The game went down to the wire. Brooks nailed a 30 foot 3-point shot from the corner to tie the game at 57 as the horn sounded.

The game was tied at 57 after regulation.

In the overtime period the score went back and forth. Lakeville North’s Drew Stewart and Brooks came up with huge baskets.

Schultze came up with rebounds and was able to make layups. Prior Lake swung the ball around the 3-point line late in the game.

Prior Lake called a timeout with 8.5 seconds left in the overtime period. The score was Lakeville North 64, Prior Lake 62.

Lakeville North was lead in scoring by Flack with 20 points and Carter Brooks and Issac Brooks each with 13 points.

Prior Lake was lead in scoring by Heidecker with 15 points, Schultze with 11 points and Bair with 12 points.
