PENN STATE WENT UP AGAINST MINNESOTA IN A WOMEN’S BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 28, Penn State and Minnesota went up against each other in a women’s basketball game.

Minnesota looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

Both teams did a good job of feeling the other team out as they tried to figure out what the other team was doing on offense.

Minnesota’s Mikayla Bailey came up with deep 3-point baskets. She called for the pall at the top of the key and was able to hit the shot from there.

There was a media timeout with 15:22 left in the first half. The score was tied at 12.

Minnesota did a good job of moving the ball down the floor and getting everyone involved in the offense. Minnesota did a good job of taking time off the shot clock by reversing the ball around the 3-point line.

Neither team went on a run in the first eight minutes of the game.

Minnesota wanted to push the ball down the floor and set a high tempo of the game. Penn State wanted to slow it down and spread Minnesota out when they were on offense.

Minnesota’s Tory Jacobs brought the ball down the floor and was able to set up the Minnesota offense. She did a good job of letting her teammates know where they were supposed to be on the offensive end.

There was a media timeout with 9:44 left in the first half. The score was Minnesota 19, Penn State 17.

Both teams took a lot of time off the shot clock on offense. Neither team got a lot of shots up.

There was a media timeout with 7:58 left in the first half. The score was tied at 19.

Penn State’s Lindsey Spann came up with huge baskets in the first half. Her teammates did a good job of getting her the ball in spots where she could hit shots.

Penn State did a good job of moving the ball around the 3-point line on offense. They really took time off the clock.

There was a media timeout with 3:46 left in the first half. The score was tied at 27.

As the first half winded down Minnesota spread the ball around and came up with jump shots.

At halftime the score was Minnesota 34, Penn State 29.

As the second half got underway Penn State continued to push the ball down the floor.

Minnesota stayed in a zone defense early in the second half.

Minnesota called a timeout with 16:32 left in regulation. The score was Penn State 37, Minnesota 34.

Penn State’s Zone caused problems for the Minnesota offense.

Penn State was able to come up with layups off of steals in the second half. There zone defense caused problems for Minnesota.

There was a media timeout with 10:29 left in regulation. The score was Penn State 49, Minnesota 44.

Minnesota’s offense got rolling after the media timeout. They were able to get the ball inside and come up with layups. Penn State was able to take away the low post game.

There was media timeout with 7:41 left in regulation. The score was Minnesota 54, Penn State 53.

Minnesota’s Kelley, Bailey, and Zahui all came up with huge baskets in the second half. They all helped keep Minnesota in the game.

Penn State’s Candice Agee, Spann and Peyton Whitted were their driving force. They all like to get to the basket and take mid-range jump shots and layups.

There was a media timeout with 3:43 left in regulation. The score was Minnesota 61, Penn State 55.

Both teams continued to attack the basket late in the contest.

Minnesota held on for the 75-64 victory over Penn State.

The leading scorers for Penn State were Whitted and Spann each with 16 points and Agee with 12 points.

The leading scorers for Minnesota were Kelley with 18 points, Bailey with 17 points and Zahui with 16 points.
