ROOSEVELT WENT UP AGAINST NORTH IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Feb. 3, Roosevelt and North went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game.

Roosevelt came out on fire as they built a 15-8 lead with 12 minutes left in the first half.

North’s ODell Wilson came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half.

North called a timeout with 11:26 left in the first half. The score was Roosevelt 20, North 10.

North struggled to shoot the ball in the first half. Roosevelt did a good job of getting the ball into the paint and getting the ball into the hands of Arione Farrar. Farrar was able to make midrange jump shots and layups in the first half.

After a slow start by North they got their offense going late in the first half. North’s Jamil Jackson came up with deep 3-point baskets. He hit a 3-point basket to tie the game at 22 with just over 5 minutes to go.

North struggled shooting the ball in the first half. Roosevelt was able to step up and knock down shots throughout the first half.

At halftime the score was Roosevelt 33, North 27.

As the second half got underway North looked to keep attacking the basket and making layups in transition.

Roosevelt’s Farrar and London Cobbs were able to come up with layups in the second half.

The score went back and forth in the second half.

North continued to attack the basket and come up with mid-range jump shots and layups down the stretch.

The score went back and forth late in the contest. Neither team went on a run.

North’s Ahzerik Rodgers came up with huge layups late in the contest.

North came away with the 58-55 victory over Roosevelt.

The leading scorers for Roosevelt were Farrar Jr. with 22 points and Cobbs with 17 points.

The leading scorers for North were Wilson with 20 points and Isaac Johnson with 13 points.
