MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST WENT UP AGAINST MINNETONKA IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 27, Minneapolis Southwest went up against Minnetonka in a boys’ basketball game.

Minnetonka passed the ball around the 3-point line as they looked to get the ball inside. Southwest played a 2-3 zone defense. Minnetonka did a good job of attacking the zone defense.

Both teams took a lot of 3-point baskets. Minnetonka’s Seth Coatta came up with mid-range jump shots and 3-point baskets in the first half.

Southwest's Brennan Hawkins attacked the basket and was able to come up with mid-range jump shots and layups throughout the first half.

Southwest called a timeout 11:05 left in the first half. The score was Minnetonka 23, Southwest 18.

Southwest’s Keion Alexander came up with 3-point shots throughout the game. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it,

Minnetonka called a timeout with 8:10 left in the first half. The score was Minnetonka 29, Southwest 25.

Minnetonka’s Peter Weiss came up with layups and 3-point baskets to keep Minnetonka in the game.

Southwest kept attacking the basket and they kept shooting the ball. Southwest’s Dakota Fleming was able to score baskets in transition. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

At halftime the score was Minnetonka 53, Southwest 39.

As the second half got underway Minnetonka came up with layups. They were quicker than Southwest and they used that to their advantage.

Southwest attacked the basket throughout the second half. They did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense.

Minnetonka’s Amar Miller looked to make his layups and jump shots. He also was able to come up with steals and turn the steals into layups.

Minnetonka came away with the 105-92 victory over Southwest.

The leading scorers for Southwest were Alexander with 33 points, Fleming with 17 points, and Arthur Frazier with 15 points.

The leading scorers for Minnetonka were Coatta with 32 points and Miller and Weiss both had 17 points.
