PRIOR LAKE WENT UP AGAINST BURNSVILLE IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Prior Lake and Burnsville went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game.

Prior Lake’s Lucas Olson came up with layups and mid-range jump shots early. Olson also came up with rebounds.

Prior Lake called a timeout with 12:47 left in the first half. The score was Prior Lake 13, Burnsville 9.

Prior Lake took a lot of time off the clock as they swung the ball around the 3-point line. They looked to get the ball inside to Connor Bair or Devin Mays who came up with layups.

Burnsville’s Alex Davis and Jackson Martens got the ball down the floor quickly. They were both crafty with the ball. Joe Morris came up with a two handed slam dunk.

Prior Lake’s Austin Heidecker made huge layups for his team. He called for the ball in the paint.

The score went back and forth with under eight minutes left in the first half.

Burnsville’s Jackson Martens, Jason Gumm and Joe Morris all came up with baskets throughout the game.

Burnsville played zone defense. They didn’t want Prior Lake to take deep shots. They did a good job of clogging the lane. With Burnsville in a zone defense Prior Lake took a lot of time off the clock on the offensive end.

At halftime the score was Prior Lake 28, Burnsville 23.  

Prior Lake came out of halftime on fire. Heidecker kept on coming up with huge mid-range jump shots.

Prior Lake stepped up their defensive pressure and was able to come up with rebounds and layups in the second half.

Prior Lake’s Jack Kortes came up with rebounds on both ends of the floor. He was able to get the ball into the hands of his guards who brought the ball down the floor.

Prior Lake called a timeout with 5:17 left in regulation. The score was Prior Lake 63, Burnsville 47.

Prior Lake continued to push the ball down the floor and was able to come up with the 72-57 victory over Burnsville.

The leading scorers for Prior Lake were McKiernan with 23 points, Kortes with 13 points and Heidecker with 12 points.


The leading scorers for Burnsville were Morris with 15 points, Gumm with 11 points and Martens with 10 points.
