Andover and Chanhassen went up against each other in a boys basketball game.
Chanhassen did a good job of moving the ball down the floor and getting set up in an offense early.
The score went back and forth early in the contest. Neither team went on a run early.
There were many ties and lead changes in the first half.
Chanhassen played a zone defense for the first half. They wanted to make Andover take long shots and not make layups.
Both teams defensive make it difficult for the other team to hit shots that they put up. Andover took a lot of time off the clock on the offensive end as they swung the ball around the three-point line.
Chanhassen caught fire late in the first half. They were able to knock down shots from everywhere on the court. Andover couldn’t slow Chanhassen down on the offensive end.
At halftime the score was Chanhassen 32, Andover 18.
As the second half got underway Chanhassen continued to attack the basket and was able to make their shots. They were able to get the ball into the hands of Joey Witthus. Witthus shot the ball well as he knocked down his mid-range jump shot.
Andover wasn’t able to get anything going offensively. The Chanhassen defense was able to slow down the Andover offense.
Chanhassen came away with the 63-51 victory over Andover.
The leading scorer for Andover was Kyle Kettler with 15 points and the leading scorer for Chanhassen was Witthus with 29 points.
