HENRY SIBLEY TOOK ON MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 30 Henry Sibley and Minneapolis North went up against each other in a boys basketball game at Augsburg College.
 
Henry Sibley looked to push the ball down the floor as they wanted to get the ball in transition. Guard Solon Ellis did a good job of bringing the ball down floor and was able to get his team into an offense pattern.
 
North called a timeout with 15:09 left in the first half. The score was Henry Sibley 11, North 2.
 
North’s D.J. Hunter was not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor. He had good court awareness. On the offensive end Hunter was not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. North’s Tyler Johnson got his shot going in the first half. He was able to hit jump shots from within the three-point line.
 
Henry Sibley did a good job of running their offense. They were able to get the ball into the hands of Javon Davis and Zach Edwards. Those two were able to make shots that they put up. Davis and Edwards were not afraid to shoot the ball.
 
Henry Sibley looked to trap the ball on defense. They wanted to fluster North when they were on offense. Henry Sibley did a good job of doing that.
 
North couldn’t get into an offensive shooting rhythm in the first half. They had a hard time making layups in the first half.
 
Johnson continued to hit his shots late in the first half. He took the ball to the basket from everywhere on the floor.
 
Henry Sibley’s Mark Pumper came up with some nice shots late in the first half. He was able to make shots that he put up.
 
Ellis came up with some nice steals lake in the first half. He was able to convert the defensive steals to points on the offensive end.
 
At halftime the score was Henry Sibley 46, North 32.
 
As the second half got underway both teams continued to push the ball down the floor and attack the basket in the second half.
 
North tried to chip away at the deficit in the second half but they were unsuccessful at doing that. They played hard throughout.
 
Hunter and Jackson continued to attack the basket and make shots that they put up.
 
Pumper came through big for Henry Sibley as he was able to hit his layups that he shot in the second half.
 
North called a timeout with 10:51 left in regulation, the score was Henry Sibley 58, North 43.   
 
North continued to attack the basket late in regulation. They knocked down shots late in the second half. North tied the game at 64 with just over 5:00 left in regulation. After that the score went back and forth for a period of time.
 
Henry Sibley came away with the 80-71 victory over North.
 
The leading scorer for Henry Sibley was Pumper with 28 and the leading scorer for North was Jackson with 18 points.
