APPLE VALLEY TOOK ON PRIOR LAKE IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 24 Apple Valley and Prior Lake went up against in a basketball game in front of a huge crowd. The defense at the start of the game made it difficult for either team to make jump shots.

Apple Valley’s Tyus Jones was all over the floor on the offensive end. He was able to get to the basket and was able to make his layups.

Jones did a good job getting his teammates involved in the offense. He found Gary Trent Jr, who was able to hit mid-range jump shots.

Prior Lake did move the ball well on the offensive end.

Apple Valley called a timeout with 8:30 left in the first half. The score was Apple Valley 24, Prior Lake 18.
 
Prior Lake went zone with just under 8:00 in the half. They looked to spread Apple Valley out.

Jon Sobaski stepped up and knocked down deep three-point shots for Prior Lake.

Prior Lake took a timeout with 6:11 left in the first half. The score was Apple Valley 31, Prior Lake 21.

Apple Valley Jones found teammate Dennis Austin, who came up with some mid-range jump shots.

Jones had great court awareness he knew where his teammates were and was able to get them the ball.

At halftime the score was Apple Valley 53, Prior Lake 38.

Sobaski was not afraid to shoot the ball he got hot from the corner. His teammates continued to hit mid-range jump shots throughout the second half.

Prior Lake called a timeout with 14:40 left in the second half. The score was Apple Valley 63, Prior Lake 45.

Apple Valley moved the ball well throughout the second half. Austin came alive in the second half as he was able to get his teammates involved in the offense.

Prior Lake’s Isaiah Sims took the ball hard to the basket and was able to get fouled on layups. He was able to make his free throws.  

Apple Valley took over on the second half. They were able to make fast break baskets. Prior Lake was not able to keep up the tempo of Apple Valley.

Jones was all over the floor. He played very well throughout the game. Jones did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense.

Prior Lake called a timeout with 7:14 left in regulation. The score was Apple Valley 82, Prior Lake 59.

Jones played well throughout the game. He provided offensive fire power for his team. His teammates also played well.

Apple Valley came away with the 93-67 victory over Prior Lake.
 
The leading scorers for Prior Lake were Sobaski with 30 points and Bair with 18 points. As a team Prior Lake shot 25-68 from the field that included going 5-19 from behind the three-point line. They were 12-22 from the free throw line.  Prior Lake brought down a total of 37 rebounds, 19 of them on the defensive end.

The leading scorers for Apple Valley were Jones with 38 points, Bertram with 13 points and Austin with 10 points. As a team Apple Valley shot 36-61 from the field that included going 3-13 from behind the three-point line. They were 18-27 from the free throw line. Apple Valley brought down a total of 41 rebounds, 30 of them on the defensive end.
