On Jan. 10 Prior Lake and Eastview squared off in a boys basketball game. Prior Lake did a good job of getting the ball out in the open court and scoring baskets in transition.
Eastview passed the ball around the three-point line to take time off the clock.
Prior Lake’s Conner Bair took the ball hard to the basket. On the defensive end he slowed down the guy that he was guarding.
Eastview called a timeout with 11:06 left in the first half. The score was Prior Lake 16, Eastview 8.
Eastview had a hard time getting their offense going in the first half. They were not able to hit shots that they put up.
Prior Lake did a good job of moving the ball around the three-point line. They wanted to look to get the ball into the hands of Nick Vanek. Vanek took the ball hard to the basket. He was able to get layups and his teammates did a good job of feeding him the ball near the basket.
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls. It was a very physical game on by both teams on both ends of the floor.
At halftime the score was Prior Lake 35, Eastview 21.
Prior Lake’s Jason Faul was not afraid to shoot the ball throughout the game. He was able to make mid-range jump shots.
Eastview took a lot of time off the clock in the second half. They were down 52-28 with 11:45 left in regulation.
Prior Lake continued to take the ball hard to the basket and was able to hit their shots throughout the second half.
Prior Lake called a timeout with 5:55 left in regulation. The score was Prior Lake 59, Eastview 41.
Prior Lake continued to push the ball down the floor and hit their shots.
Prior Lake came away with the 70-53 victory over Eastview.
The leading scorers for Eastview were Obi Ibeneme with 12 points, Keegan Dickson with 11 points.
The leading scorers for Prior Lake were Sobaski with 17 points, Faul with 15 points, Bair with 13 and Austin Heidecker with 12 points.
