PRAIRIE SEEDS ACADEMY TOOK ON LANESBORO IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

Super Sixty Events hosted a Metro vs. Outstate boys and girls basketball event at Owatonna High School on Jan. 18. In the first game of the day Prairie Seeds Academy (PSA) went up against Lanesboro in a boys basketball game.
 
Both teams looked to push the ball down the floor and looked to get baskets in transition.
 
Both teams were sluggish at the start of the game. It took each team awhile to get used each other.  PSA’s Kentrell Einfeldt knocked down three-point shots.
 
Lanesboro played mostly zone defense in the first half. They wanted to make PSA to make long range shots.
 
Lanesboro called a timeout with 13:02 left in the first half. The score was PSA 10, Lanesboro 3.
 
PSA shared the ball well on offense. Everyone touched the ball and everyone shot the ball.
 
Neither team went on a run in the first half. The score was close throughout.
 
Lanesboro’s Kole Rudd did a good job of calling for the ball in the lane. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in the lane and we was able to make layups.
 
Lanesboro got hot late in the first half. They were able to get steals and turn them into baskets.
 
Rudd was all over the floor in the first half. The PSA defense was not able to slow him down on the offensive end. Rudd was able to shoot from the inside and from behind the three-point line.
 
At halftime the score was Lanesboro 42, PSA 34.
 
PSA’s Dejuan Williams was all over the floor. He came up with some nice baskets. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. He was also able to get the ball into his teammate Brady Reinke who also made shots throughout the game.
 
Both teams exchanged baskets throughout the second half.  
 
PSA’s Landon Kirkwood came up with some nice baskets. He kept his team in the game. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball within the three-point line where he could hit his shot.
 
In a game that went back and forth throughout PSA came away with the 81-76 victory over Lanesboro. The leading scorers for Lanesboro were Rudd with 38 points, and Rogers with 21 points. The leading scorers for PSA were Kirkwood with 25 points and Reinke with 22 points.
