FORMER UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA GOPHERS MEN’S HOCKEY COACH DOUG WOOG HAS DIED

Former University of Minnesota Gophers Men’s Hockey coach Doug Woog has passed away. Woog died on Dec. 14. Woog suffered from dealing with Parkinson’s disease and other health complications.

Woog grew up and played hockey in South St. Paul High School. After high school, Woog went on to play hockey at the University of Minnesota between 1963–66. Woog played for various originations until 1968.

In 1971. Woog started coaching as head coaching spots of assistant coaching spots.

1985–1999 Minnesota.

Woog finished with an overall record of 388–187–40 (.663) and a tournament record of 21–17 (.553)
