MINNEAPOLIS ROOSEVELT WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 19, Minneapolis Roosevelt went up against Minneapolis Southwest in a boys’ basketball game. Going into the game Roosevelt had an overall record of 0-5 while Southwest came into the game with a record of 1-3.

Southwest started the game out with layups and jump shots. They got everyone involved in the offense early.

Roosevelt started the game in a zone defense. They forced Southwest to take deep 3-point shots.

Southwest passed the ball around the 3-point line and came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. They were able to turn Roosevelt over and come up with layups off the turnovers.

Roosevelt called a timeout with 14:47 left in the first half. The score was Southwest 14, Roosevelt 3.

The Roosevelt offense had trouble getting going as they struggled shooting the ball early.

Southwest moved the ball down the floor quickly as they were able to get past the Roosevelt defense.

Even though Roosevelt struggled to shoot the ball throughout the first half, they kept on shooting the ball.

Roosevelt tried to come up with layups in the first half, but they were not able to make their shots that they put up.

The defensive pressure that Southwest applied made it difficult for Roosevelt to come up with an uncontested look at the basket.

Roosevelt took their time on the offensive end. They passed the ball around the 3-point line as they looked for their shots.

After a slow start for Roosevelt, they kept on looking for their shots late in the first half.

Southwest’s Marcus Mattox came up with mid-range jump shots and layups let in the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot the ball.

Southwest called a timeout with 3:05 left in the first half. The score was Southwest 32, Roosevelt 17.

Southwest came up with steals on the defensive end and they were able to score layups on the offensive end off the steals.

Both teams looked for their shots late in the first half.

At halftime, the score was Southwest 37, Roosevelt 17.

As the second half got underway Southwest looked to get the ball into the hands of Gabe Senseman-Cassidy and Marcus Mattox who both came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. Teammate Christo Polydorou came up with layups and mid-range jump shots. If Polydorou didn’t think that he had a good shot, he would pass it to one of his teammates.

Southwest called a timeout with 13:54 left in regulation. The score was Southwest 45, Roosevelt 22.

Roosevelt’s Dennis Holte was called for a technical foul with 13:06 left in regulation.

Southwest continued to move the ball down the floor and come up with shots.

Roosevelt struggled to shoot the ball throughout the game. Southwest was to quick for Roosevelt and Roosevelt struggled shooting the ball throughout the game.

Southwest called a timeout with 1:59 left in regulation. The score was Southwest 65, Roosevelt 27.

Southwest kept on attacking the basket late in the game.

Southwest came away with the 69-27 victory over Roosevelt. 

The leading scorer for Roosevelt was Nelson Ladd with 9 points,

The leading scorers for Southwest were Camden Holter with 16 points, Christo Polydorou 14 points and  Gabe Senseman-Cassidy with 12 points.
