ST. PAUL CENTRAL WENT UP AGAINST HOPKINS IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

St. Paul Central and Hopkins squared off against each other in a boys’ basketball game. Hopkins moved the ball down the floor and was able to get everyone involved in the offense early. 

Central called a timeout with 15:52 left in the first half. The score was Hopkins 11, Central 2. 

Hopkins raced down the floor and came up with mid-range jump shots and layups early. It took Central to get into an offensive shooting rhythm. 

Central swung the ball around the 3-point line as they got everyone involved in the offense. 

Hopkins’ Xavier White came up with mid-range jump shots and layups early. White’s teammates got him the ball in spots where he could shoot the ball. 

The defensive pressure that Hopkins applied made it difficult for Central to get open looks at the basket. 

Hopkins played a zone defense and that made Central must swing the ball around the 3-point line. 

Hopkins’ Elvis Nnaji came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He was able to make shots that he put up on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he was able to slow down the guy he was guarding. 

Hopkins’ Andre Gray II came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He had good court awareness and knew where his teammates were on the floor. 

Hopkins attacked the basket in the first half and was able to make their shots. 

Central continued to attack the basket late in the first half. Even though they struggled shooting the ball they attacked the basket. 

At halftime, the score was Hopkins 62, Central 24.

As the second half got underway Hopkins continued to attack the basket and come up with shots in the second half. 

Central continued to look for their shots but they were not able to make shots that they put up. 

Central called a timeout with 14:34 left in the second half. The score was Hopkins 71, Central 28. 

Central’s Caron Crowe came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. Even though they struggled shooting the ball Central still attacked the basket take in the game. 

Hopkins came away with the 94-45 victory over Central.
