HOPKINS WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

It was the championship game of the 2019 TCO Holiday Boys’ basketball tournament at Augsburg University. In the championship game, it was Hopkins against Minneapolis North.

North looked to get into their offense early. They attacked the Hopkins defense at the top of the key.

North looked to attack the basket early. North looked to get everyone involved in the offense. North’s Willie Wilson came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

North called a timeout with 15:47 left in the first half. The score was North 5, Hopkins 4.

Hopkins’ Andre Gray II looked to come up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates were able to get him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. He wasn’t afraid to shoot deep 3-point shots.

It took Hopkins while to get into a shooting rhythm. Hopkins was able to turn North over and looked for layups off the turnovers.

Hopkins got everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around the 3-point line and were able to come up with their shots.

Hopkins looked to score baskets in transition. They moved the ball down the floor well and talked on both ends of the floor.

The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team gave up easy baskets.

North’s Willie Wilson came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates were able to get him the ball in spots where he could make his shots.

Hopkins’ Regan Merritt came up with deep 3-point shots. His teammates were able to get him the ball.

North called a timeout with 8:02 left in the first half. The score was North 26, Hopkins 22.

North’s De’Meiko Anderson came up with deep 3-point shots and layups in the first half.

The defensive pressure that North applied made it difficult for Hopkins to come up with open looks at the basket.

North wasn’t afraid to shoot deep 3-point shots late in the first half. North’s CJ Brown looked to make deep 3-point shots and layups.

The score went back and forth late in the first half.

At halftime, the score was North 35, Hopkins 34.

As the second half got underway both teams continued to attack the basket.

North called a timeout with 16:17 left in regulation. The score was Hopkins 35, North 34.

North continued to attack the basket and come up with their shots.

Both teams dove on the floor after the ball. Neither team gave up an uncontested shot.

The score went back and forth in the second half. Neither team went on a run.

Hopkins’ Kerwin Walton came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. His teammates knew where he was on the floor and was able to get the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Hopkins took a lot of deep 3-point shots and crashed the boards as they looked to come up with rebounds.

North called a timeout with 10:06 left in regulation. The score was Hopkins 44, North 36.

Hopkins continued to come up with shots in the second half. They attacked the basket and made their mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. Walton got his shot going and was able to get past the North defense.

North continued to attack the basket late in the second half.

Hopkins continued to make their shots late in the second half. They were able to get past the North defense and make their shots.

Hopkins called a timeout with 5:11 left in regulation. The score was Hopkins 55, North 45.

North teams played well throughout the game. They were able to keep up with Hopkins throughout the game. They gave Hopkins a game.

In a hard-fought game played by both teams, Hopkins came away with the 70-62 victory over North.

The leading scorers for North were Willie Wilson with 19 points, Davon Townley 12 points, De'Meiko Anderson with 10 points, and Mario Sanders II with 9 points.

The leading scorers for Hopkins were Kerwin Walton with 22 points, and Elvis Nnaji with 10 points.

With that win, Hopkins won the 2019 TCO Holiday Classic.
