On Jan. 11, Minneapolis North traveled to Caledonia for a boys’ basketball game. North won the toss and looked to get their offense going early. They passed the ball around the 3-point line as they looked to attack the basket.
Caledonia moved the ball down the floor well and looked to get everyone involved in the offense.
North pushed the ball down the floor and was able to get everyone in the offense.
Caledonia’s Noah King came up with a seal and a two-handed slam dunk that got the crowd and his teammates got into the game.
The score went back and forth early. It took a while for each team to get into the flow of the game.
Caledonia’s Eli King and Noah King both came up with mid-range jump shots and layups to keep them in the game.
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls and they both crashed the boards.
North called a timeout with 11:01 left in the first half. The score was Caledonia 18, North 13.
North looked to get the ball inside to Quientrail Jamison-Travis. Jamison-Travis came up with layups and mid-range jump shots in the second half.
North called a timeout with 7:45 left in the first half. The score was Caledonia 24, North 19.
North’s De’Meiko Anderson came up with layups to keep North in the game. His teammates were able to get him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. If Anderson didn’t think that he had a good look at the basket he would pass it to one of his teammates.
Caledonia’s Eli King came up with deep 3-point shots and jump shots in the first half.
Caledonia called a timeout with 3:47 left in the first half. The score was Caledonia 36, North 25.
North attacked the basket late in the first half as they kept on looking to come up with their shots. Willie Wilson came up with steals and layups. Teammate Mario Sanders II came up with steals and layups. He was also able to make free throws.
At halftime, the score was Caledonia 38 North 38.
As the second half got underway both teams continued to attack the basket and look for their shots.
The score continued to go back and forth early in the second half. There were multiple ties and lead changes throughout the second half.
Neither team gave up open looks at the basket as both teams had to work for their shots.
North’s Wilson kept on coming up with big mid-range jump shots and layups that kept North in the game.
Eli King came up with deep 3-point shots to keep Caledonia in the game.
Caledonia called a timeout with 8:40 left in regulation. The score was Caledonia 62, North 60.
Caledonia Sam Privet came up with deep 3-point shots to keep the game close.
North called a timeout with 7:30 left in regulation. The score was North 64, Caledonia 62.
Both teams attacked the basket throughout the whole game. Neither team went on a run in the second half.
Wilson came up with mid-range jump shots and layups late in the game. He kept North in the game.
Eli King, Noah King, and Sam Privet all came up with baskets to keep Caledonia in the game.
The game remained close throughout the second half. As there were multiple ties and lead changes.
North called a timeout with 1:19 left in regulation. The score was tied at 74.
Both teams looked to play keep away as they looked for the last shot.
Caledonia’s Eli King was fouled with 7.3 seconds with the score tied and he missed the free throw.
North called a timeout with 5.1 left in regulation. The score was tied at 74.
The game was tied at 74 at the end of regulation.
Caledonia won the tip and looked to get the ball into the hands of Noah King who made a jump shot.
North took their time on the offensive end as they looked to get into the offense but turned the ball over.
Caledonia called a timeout with 2:51 left in overtime. The score was Caledonia 76, North 74.
King came up with shots in the overtime period. He made his jump shots and lay-ups.
Both teams kept the game close in the overtime period.
Townley came up with some big shots in the overtime period.
Caledonia called a timeout with 52.4 seconds left in the overtime period. The score was tied at 83.
The game came down to the wire once again. North swung the ball around the 3-point line to take time off the clock.
North called a timeout with 12.9 seconds left in the overtime period. The score was tied at 83.
Caledonia’s Eli King was fouled, and he stepped up and knocked down 2-free throws. North’s Sanders came up with the last shot but couldn’t make the shot.
Caledonia came away with the 85-83 victory over North.
The leading scorers for North were Wilson with 26 points, Townley with 19 points, Jamison-Travis with 14 and Butler with 13 points.
The leading scorers Caledonia were Noah King with 25 points, Eli King with 22 points, Privet with 13 points.
