APPLE VALLEY WENT UP AGAINST MAPLE GROVE IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Apple Valley and Maple Grove squared off in a boys’ basketball game. Apple Valley did a good job of moving the ball down the floor and making layups in transition.

Apple Valley’s Cameron Kriksey came up came up with mid-range jump shots and layups early.

Maple Grove called a timeout with 14:22 left in the first half. The score was Apple Valley 12, Maple Grove 0.

Maple Grove’s Brad Davison came up with layups. He was able to come up with steals.

Maple Grove used a zone defense as they wanted to spread the Apple Valley offense out.

Maple Grove couldn’t get into a good shooting rhythm early.

Davison kept on calling for the ball as his teammates did a good job of finding him in the lane and getting layups.

Apple Valley called a timeout with 8:26 left in the first half. The score was Apple Valley 23, Maple Grove 15.

Apple Valley looked to score baskets in transition. Apple Valley’s Isaiah Hall came up with mid-range jump-shots in the first half.

Maple Grove had a difficult time shooting the ball in the first half.

Apple Valley was quicker than Maple Grove in the first half.

Apple Valley was able to make fast break layups.

At halftime the score was Apple Valley 44, Maple Grove 32.

Maple Grove looked to make layups early. They attacked the Apple Valley’s defense.

Apple Valley was able to come up with layups throughout the second half.   

Maple Grove was able to come up with some big baskets in the second half.

Apple Valley was too quick for Maple Grove.

Apple Valley came away with the 86-75 victory over Maple Grove.

The leading scorers for Maple Grove were Davison with 21 points, and Nikko with 19 points.

The leading scorers for Apple Valley were Trent with 19 points, Bolton with 18 points and Bertram with 16 points.

After the game I was able to talk to Apple Valley’s Trent and head coach Zach Goring about the game.
