CHAMPLIN PARK WENT UP AGAINST OSSEO IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 16 Champlin Park went up against Osseo in a boys’ basketball game. Going into the game Champlin Park came into the game with an overall record of 7-0 while Osseo had an overall record of 3-3.

Champlin Park started the game in a man-to-man defense. Champlin Park looked to move the ball down the floor and get everyone involved in the offense. Champlin Park’s Aaron Kloppner was able to step up and knock down deep 3-point baskets.

Champlin Park did a good job of getting the ball down the floor. They swung the ball around the three-point line as they looked to take time off the clock.

Champlin Park did a good job of getting the ball into the hands of J.T. Gibson. Gibson did a good job of getting to the basket and making layups. He was also able to hit mid-range jump shots.

Osseo’s Allen Anderson brought the ball down the floor and was able to get his teammates involved in the offense. Anderson was able to get the ball into the hands of Kameron Bettie. Bettie was able to get to the basket and make layups and also able to knock down mid-range jump shots.

Champlin Park’s Marty Hill also came up with some huge mid-range jump shots and deep three-point baskets. On the defensive end Hill was able to slow his guy down that he was guarding.

Champlin Park used a zone defense. They wanted to spread the Osseo offense out and make it hard for them to hit shots.

Anderson did a good of defending his man. He was able to keep his guy in front of him and make him make tough shots.

Osseo called a timeout with 12:18 left in the first half. The score was Champlin Park 22, Osseo 11.

Osseo’s Elliot Kane came up with mid-range jump shots midway in the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in his hands were he could shoot it.

Osseo switch up between man-to-man and zone defense throughout the first half.

Champlin Park did a good job of knocking down the 3-point shots. They were not afraid to shoot the ball from where ever they felt comfortable.

Champlin Park’s Theo John came up with mid-range jump shots in the first half. He was also able to get his teammates involved in the offense as well.

Gibson also was able to come up with steals and turn them into layups on the offensive end.

Champlin Park did a good job of talking to each other as they brought the ball down the floor.

Champlin Park called a timeout with 1:47 left in the first half. The score was Champlin Park 51, Osseo 27.

Champlin Park continued to attack the basket late in the half.

At halftime the score was Champlin Park 54, Osseo 27.

Champlin Park’s McKinley Wright was all over the floor on the offensive end. He came up with layups and mid-range jump shots throughout the game. Osseo had a difficult time containing him.

Champlin Park stayed in a zone defense in the second half. They were able to frustrate Osseo on the offensive end.

Osseo swung the ball around the three-point line. The Champlin Park defense extended itself so they guarded well behind the three-point line. Osseo was able to attack the zone defense as they looked for layups.

Osseo’s Kyle Williams brought the ball down the floor and looked to get everyone involved in the offense.

Champlin Park came away with the 92-54 victory over Osseo.

The leading scorer for Osseo was Bettie with 15.

The leading scorers for Champlin Park were Marty Hill with 25 points, Gibson and Wright each with 19 points and Kloeppner with 10 points.
