Champlin Park and Cretin-Derham Hall squared off in a boys’ basketball game. The score went back and forth throughout the first half.
Cretin’s Joe Rosga was all over the floor on the offensive end he was able to get down the floor and make layups. He also wasn’t afraid to step back and knock down mid-range jump shots.
Champlin Park’s JT Gibson came up with rebounds. He was able to bring the ball down the floor and make layups.
Cretin-Derham Hall wasn’t afraid to take deep 3-point baskets. Rosga was able to come up with defensive stops and turn his guy over. Rosga was able to step up and knock down 3-point shots.
Champlin Park looked to score baskets in transition. They were able to get to the basket and hit layups. Champlin Park also did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense.
Rosga continued to make shots late in the first half.
At halftime the score was Champlin Park 32, Cretin-Derham Hall 28.
As the second half got underway Champlin Park came out looking to push the ball down the floor.
Cretin-Derham Hall’s Sam Newman came up with layups off steals. Newman also was able to knock down 3-point baskets.
Gibson did a good job of driving to the basket for layups. He also was able to make free throws.
Cretin-Derham Hall called a timeout with 6:18 left in regulation. The score was Champlin Park 54, Cretin-Derham Hall 48.
Champlin Park looked to take time off the clock with 5 minutes left in regulation.
The game came down to the wire. Neither team gave up an easy shot.
Champlin Park came away with the 65-62 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall.
The leading scores for Cretin-Derham Hall were Rosga with 20 points and Neumann with 19 points.
The leading scorer for Champlin Park was Gibson with 21 points.
