ROSEVILLE WENT UP AGAINST CHAMPLIN PARK IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Roseville and Champlin Park went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game.
 
Champlin Park started the game in a zone defense. Roseville also started out in a zone defense. Champlin Park passed the ball around the 3-point line.

Champlin Park’s J.T. Gibson brought the ball down the floor. He communicated well with his teammates. Gibson was able to get the ball into the hands of Marty Hill. Hill also was able to bring the ball down the floor.

Roseville called a timeout with 15:38 left in the first half. The score was Champlin Park 7. Roseville 0.


Champlin Park’s Theo John called for the ball on the low block. He attempted to make layups in the first half. 

Champlin Park’s McKinley Wright came up with huge layups and jump shots in the first half. The Roseville defense had a tough time slowing Wright down.

Roseville stuck with their zone defense. They were able to make Champlin Park take their time on the offensive end. 


Hill was able to come up with defensive rebounds and then bring the ball down the floor and make fast break layups. 

Roseville went into a scoring lull midway through the first half. They couldn’t hit shots.

Hill came up with some huge baskets in the first half. He was able to get to the basket and make mid-range jump shots and layups on offense. On the defensive end Hill did a good job of making it difficult for his man to make shots.

Roseville’s Jesper Horsted came up with mid-range jump shots late in the first half.

Wright continued to come up with mid-range jump shots late in the first half.

John called for the ball on the low block. His teammates did a good job of getting the ball to him in the paint where came up with layups.

Roseville had a difficult time shooting the ball throughout the first half.

At halftime the score was Champlin Park 49, Roseville 39.

The second half got underway with Champlin Park continuing to look for layups. John also did a good job of coming off of screens and getting to the basket.

Roseville’s Mitch Poss came up with some huge jump shots. He was also able to make 3-point baskets throughout the second half.

Hill was able to come up with some huge baskets. His teamates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could pull it.

Roseville’s Kobe Critchley hit jump shots. He came off of screens in the lane and pulled for jump shots in the lane.

Champlin Park continued to get to the basket and make layups late in the game.

Roseville couldn’t hit shots down the stretch. 


Champlin Park came away with the 84-74 victory over Roseville. 

The leading scorers for Champlin Park were Wright with 20 points, Hill with 19 points and Gibson with 16 points.

The leading scorers for Roseville were Poss with 33 points and Horsted with 17 points.
