ROBBINSDALE ARMSTRONG WENT UP AGAINST MAPLE GROVE IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec 20, Armstrong went up against Maple Grove in a boys’ basketball Northwest Suburban Conference basketball game. Armstrong looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

It took a while for each team to get figure out what the other team was doing on the offensive end.

Maple Grove got the ball into the hands of guard Brad Davison. Davison stepped up and was able to knock down deep 3-point baskets.

Maple Grove got into an early scoring groove. They were able to get the ball into the hands of Davison who stepped up and knocked down deep shots.


Maple Grove played a zone defense. They made Armstrong have to pass the ball around the 3-point line and take time off the clock.

The Armstrong defense had a hard time stopping Davison. Davison was able to make his layups in the paint.

Maple Grove’s Jack Hutchison came up with some layups late in the first half. He was able to get past the defenders and get to the basket.

Armstrong’s Jerome Dixon came up with a deep 3-point basket late in the first half to keep his team in the game.

At halftime the score was Maple Grove 33, Armstrong 19.

As the second half got underway Maple looked to get underway Maple Grove continued to look to move the ball around the 3-point line as they looked to get the ball into the hands of Davison.

Maple Grove continued to make layups in the second half. They were patient on the offensive end.

Maple Grove was able to get past the ball around the 3- point line and still get everyone involved in the offense.


Armstrong called a timeout with 9:36 left in regulation. The score was Maple Grove 50, Armstrong 26.

Maple Grove was too quick for Armstrong. Armstrong had a hard time slowing down Davison.

Armstrong had difficulty scoring throughout the game.

Maple Grove came away with the 66-52 victory over Armstrong.

The leading scorers for Armstrong was Nolan with 9 points.

The leading scorer for Maple Grove was Davison with 20 points.
