OSSEO TOOK ON WASHBURN IN A BOYS’ NONCONFERENCE BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 23, Osseo went up against Minneapolis Washburn in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.

Washburn looked to set the tempo early in the game. Washburn started out in zone defense. Osseo started in man-to-man.

Osseo looked to work the ball around the 3-point line as they looked to get the ball inside to their big man Kameron Bettie. Bettie looked for layups on the low block.

Osseo’s Elliot Kane took the ball hard to the basket. He looked to make layups.

Washburn’s guard Kevin Gleason brought the ball down the floor and was able to make mid-range jump shots. If Gleason thought that he didn’t have a good shot he wasn’t afraid to pass the ball to his teammates.

Osseo called a timeout with 13:14 left in the first half. The score was Washburn 10, Osseo 7.

Osseo took their time on the offensive end, as they passed the ball around the 3-point line. They wanted to force Washburn to play defense on them.

Washburn applied pressure to Osseo guard Allan Anderson. If Anderson for into trouble on the offensive end his teammates did a good job of helping on the offensive end.

Washburn’s Cortez Adams stepped up and was able to come up with some nice mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half as well. Teammate JoBeril Powell was all over the floor. He came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Osseo’s Kristopher Hervey was able to dribble past his defenders and get to the basket as he attempted to make layups. On the defensive end he did a good job of slowing down his man and boxing out.

Osseo looked inside as they looked for Bettie to make layups.

Washburn did a good job of getting everyone involved on offense. They did a good job of communicating to let everyone know where they were supposed to be on the floor.

After a slow start Osseo was able to hit shots late in the first half.

Osseo’s Steven Fischer made good cuts on offense. He was able to take layups off of curl cuts.
