EASTVIEW TOOK ON EDEN PRAIRIE IN THE GIRLS BASKETBALL CLASS 4A SEMIFINALS

Eastview and Eden Prairie went up against each other in the Class 4A state semifinals in girls basketball.
 
It took a while for each team to figure out what the other team was doing.
 
There was a media timeout with 13:56 left in the first half. The score was Eden Prairie 8, Eastview 5.
 
Eastview was not afraid to shoot three-point shots in the first half. They were able to hit from behind the three-point line.
 
There was a media timeout with 10:07 left in the first half. The score was tied at 13.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half.
 
There was a media timeout with 6:39 left in the first half.
 
Eden Prairie looked to score baskets in transition. They were able to get layups late in the half.
 
There was a media timeout with 3:31 left in the first half. The score was Eastview 22, Eden Prairie 17.  
 
Eastviews’ Erika Scholsser and Kari Opatz came up with mid-range jump shots late in the first half. Eden Prairie had a hard time guarding them throughout the first half.
 
The score at halftime was Eastview 25, Eden Prairie 19.
 
There was a media timeout with 14:57 left in regulation. The score was Eastview 28, Eden Prairie 26.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the second half.
 
There was a media timeout with 9:47 left in regulation. The score was Eastview 36, Eden Prairie 35.
 
Eastview went to a zone out of the timeout. They continued to force Eden Prairie to take deep shots.
 
The score went back and forth late in the contest. Neither team went on a late in the contest.
 
Eden Prairie called a timeout with 6:10 left in regulation. The score was tied at 42.
 
Eden Prairie’s Emma Boehm came up with mid-range jump shots throughout the contest. Her teammates did a good job of getting her the ball near the top of the key where she hit her shots.
 
There was a media timeout with 3:31 left in regulation. The score was Eastview 48, Eden Prairie 45.
 
Eastview came up with some big baskets late in the contest. They were also able to slow down the Eden Prairie offense.
 
Eastview came away the 62-51 victory over Eden Prairie.
 
The leading scorers for Eden Prairie was Emma Boehm with 22 points.
 
Eastview was lead in scoring by Udo with 17 points, Opatz with 15 points and Guebert with 12 points.
 
After the game I was able to talk to Eastview’s Opatz, Guebert, and Udo about the semifinal game. I was also able to talk to Eastview head coach Millissa Guebert.
