MINNESOTA WEST TOOK ON CENTRAL LAKES IN A MENS BASKETBALL GAME

Minnesota West went up against Central Lakes in a mens basketball game. Both teams pushed the ball down the floor as they looked to get into an offensive shooting rhythm.  
 
Minnesota West started the game in a zone defense. They looked to force Central Lakes into making long range shots.
 
Central Lakes swung the ball around the three-point line as they looked to hit deep shots. They also looked to get the ball into the hands of Benji Subah. Subah was able to bring the ball down the floor and get it to his teammates. Central Lakes did a good job of taking time off the shot clock. Central Lakes Bryan Gichaba came up with a slam dunk that gave his team energy. Also for Central Lakes Alex Koch and John Jedneak came up with some mid-range jump shots that were good.
 
Minnesota West called a timeout with 8:34 left in the first half. The score was Central Lakes 19, Minnesota West 13.
 
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls. There were many jump balls in the first half.
 
Central Lakes was able to make layups throughout the first half. They were also able to turn
Minnesota West over and came up with baskets off the turnovers.
 
At halftime the score was Central Lakes 37, Minnesota West 20.
 
The second half for underway Minnesota West kept on looking to attack the basket. Minnesota West was not however able to hit shots for a period of time in the second half.
 
Minnesota West called a timeout with 16:21 left in regulation. The score was Central Lakes 45, Minnesota West 22.
 
Central Lakes ran a lot of time off the clock in the second half. They swung the ball around the three-point line as the shot clock wound down. Central Lakes didn’t start to look for their shot till there was about 15 seconds to go.
 
Central Lakes called a timeout with 12:42 left in regulation. The score was Central Lakes 48, Minnesota West 30.
 
Central Lakes Melvin Martin was all over the floor on the offensive end. Martin did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense.
 
Minnesota West called a timeout with 5:40 left in regulation. The score was Central Lakes 64, Minnesota West 47.
 
Minnesota West got hot late in regulation. The got to within 10. Minnesota West’s Jackson Seitzinger stepped up and was able to knock down jump shots throughout the second half.
 
Central Lakes called a timeout with 4:22 left in regulation. The score was Central Lakes 64, Minnesota West 54.
 
Minnesota West looked to get steals late in the contest. They came up with steals and were able to get layups.
 
Central Lakes came away with the 78-63 victory over Minnesota West.
 
As a team Minnesota West shot 23-65 from the field that included going 6-30 from behind the three-point line. They brought down a total of 31 rebounds 22 of them on the defensive end. The leading scorers for Minnesota West were Seitzinger with 16 points and Hodges and Harris each with 10 points.
 
Central Lakes shot 27-58 from the field that included going 8-22 from behind the three-point line.
 
They brought down a total of 42 rebounds 30 of them on the defensive end. The leading scorers for Central Lakes were Gichaba with 21 points and Koch and Jedneak each with 14 points.
