On Feb. 18 Prior Lake took on Eagan in a boys basketball game. Prior Lake was looked to get the ball into the hands of Jon Sobaski.
Sobaski was able to make his layups in the first half.
Eagan’s Michael Gorder made layups as he was able to get to the basket.
Prior Lake’s Sobaski and Jason Faul attacked the basket as they were able to make layups.
Prior Lake called a timeout 9:14 left in the first half. The score was Prior Lake 26, Eagan 12.
Prior Lake’s Lucas Olson was not afraid to draw contact as he took the ball to the basket.
Eagan was not able to hit shots they put up. Even though they had difficulty shooting the ball they were not able to get them to drop.
Prior Lake’s Nick Vanek was all over the floor. On the defensive end he was able to slow down the guy he was defending.
At halftime the score was Prior Lake 42, Eagan 20.
As the second half got underway Eagan stepped up their defensive pressure.
Eagan came out on fire to start the second half. Gorder and Bryndan Matthews stepped up and were able to knock down jump shots.
Prior Lake called a timeout with 12:06 left in regulation. The score was Prior Lake 44, Eagan 31.
Eagan continued to try to chip away at the deficit but they were not able to come up with baskets down the stretch.
Eagan called a timeout with 4:06 left in regulation. The score was Prior Lake 57, Eagan 41.
Neither team backed down but in the end Prior Lake came away with the 65-49 victory over Eagan.
