Mesabi Range and Anoka Ramsey went up against each other in a mens basketball game. The game got off to a quick start as each team raced up and down the floor looking for shots.
Mesabi Range looked to get the ball into the hands of Jamal Branco. Branco was able to come up with some deep three-point baskets.
The score went back and forth throughout the first half.
Anoka’s Trent Pollard found his mid-range touch as he stepped up and knocked down jump shots. If
Pollard wasn’t open he would get the ball to Lemuel Doe who stepped up and knocked down jump shots.
Anoka called a timeout with 7:25 left in the first half. The score was Mesabi Range 25, Anoka 24.
Neither team went on a run in the first half.
Anoka Ramsey was able to make layups late in the first half.
At halftime the score was tied at 38.
As the second half got underway the score continued to go back and forth. Neither team went on a run.
Both teams played well on the defensive end. Neither team gave up an open shot.
There were several ties and lead changes throughout the second half.
The game came down to the wire.
Anoka Ramsey came away with the 73-70 victory over Mesabi Range.
As a team Mesabi Range shot 26-64 from the field that included going 8-22 from behind the three-point line. They were 10-17 from the free throw line. They brought down a total of 39 rebounds 24 of them on the defensive end. They were lead in scoring by Branco with 21 points.
Anoka shot 32-67 from the field that included going 6-23 from behind the three-point line. They brought down a total of 30 rebounds 21 of them on the defensive end. Anoka was lead in scoring by Pollard with 27 points and Doe with 20 points.
