Western Technical College and Minnesota West went up against each other in a women's basketball game.
The game got off to a slow start as it took a while for each team to get used to what the other team was doing.
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run.
Everyone on Western Tech touched the ball as they did a good job of bringing the ball down the floor and running time off the clock.
Both teams set up their offense in the half court. Neither team pressed at all.
Western Technical College strung some baskets together late in the half.
The score at halftime was Western Technical 33, Minnesota West 26.
As the second half got underway so did the back and forth scoring. Western Tech kept on getting good looks at the basket.
Western Tech came alive in the second half. Western Tech’s Melissa Williams, Ali Brey, Carolyn Greene and Becca Meade all came up with mid-range jump shots to keep them in the game. They all knew where they were supposed to be on the floor.
The game came down to the wire.
The score was tied at 52 at the end of regulation.
Minnesota West’s Lindsey Drooger hit shots throughout regulation. Her teammates kept on feeding her the ball in the overtime period. Teammate Tiffany Gehl came up with a few jump shots in the overtime period.
Minnesota West came away with the 63-55 overtime victory over Western Technical College.
Western Technical College was lead in scoring by Greene with 13 points.
Minnesota West was lead in scoring by Gehl with 29 points.
