ST. CLOUD TECHNICAL COLLEGE WENT UP AGAINST VERMILION COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN A MENS BASKETBALL GAME

SCTC and Vermilion went up against each other in a mens basketball game.
 
Vermilion looked to get the ball into the hands of Emeche Wells. Wells looked to get layups.
 
SCTC looked to get the ball into the hands of Jared Noonan. Noonan was not afraid to shoot the ball from inside the paint.
 
Vermilion was able to score baskets in transition. Vermilion’s Q McFadden came up with some nice mid-range jump shots in the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
SCTC attacked the basket and was able to hit shots late in the first half.  
 
At halftime the score was Vermilion 42, SCTC 38.
 
Vermilion’s Derek Meger and Jerrod Briscoe were all over the floor. They were able to come up with big shots throughout the contest.
 
SCTC had a difficult time shooting the ball throughout the game.
 
Wells continued to shoot the ball well. His teammates were able to get him the ball in spots where he was comfortable shooting the ball.
 
SCTC stepped up and made shots late in regulation. They were able to get within eight points of Vermilion at 68-60 with 8:48 left.
 
Vermilion Dre Lucas came up with some nice mid-range jump shots in the second half.
 
SCTC turned on the offensive firepower late in the game. They got within three points with just under four minutes to go in regulation.
 
Vermilion called a timeout with 2:49 left in regulation. The score was Vermilion 80, SCTC 74.
 
The game came down to the wire.
 
Vermilion came away with the 90-82 victory over SCTC College.
 
As a team St. Cloud Tech was lead in scoring by Noonan with 22 points and West with 17 points. St. Cloud Tech shot 29-85 from the field including going 5-23 from behind the three pint line. They were 19-24 from the free throw line. They brought down a total of 54 total rebounds 31 of them on the defensive end.
 
Vermilion was lead in scoring by Meger with 25 points and Briscoe with 25 points as well. Wells chipped in 17 points. As a team Vermilion was 33-73 from the field that included going 6-23 from behind the three-point line. They were 18-29 from the free throw line. Vermilion brought down a total of 49 rebounds 35 of them on the defensive end.
