BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S WENT UP AGAINST ROBBINSDALE COOPER IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 17 Benilde-St. Margaret’s went up against Robbinsdale Cooper in a boys’ basketball game.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s pushed the ball down the floor as they looked to get into a shooting rhythm.

Cooper’s Nathan Hill came up with deep 3-point baskets and layups. His team did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s Sam Baker took the ball hard to the basket and came up with layups. If Baker didn’t think that he had a good shot, he would pass it to his teammates.

Cooper's Melvin Newbern came up with jump shots and layups in the first half. The defense had a hard time slowing him down.

Cooper called a timeout with 11:13 left in the first half. The sore was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 22, Cooper 15.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s came up with steals and were able to make layups off the steals.

Cooper went into a scoring slump. They had a tough time scoring for a period of time.

Cooper’s Devin Mosby came up with 3-point shots to keep his team in the game. Teammate Beijan Newburn came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

At halftime the score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 46, Cooper 34.

As the second half got underway Benile-St. Margaret’s continued to score baskets in transition.

Cooper came out and was able to score baskets in transition early.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s called a timeout with 13:41 left in regulation. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 54, Cooper 48.

Cooper’s Philip Howard came off the bench and provided an offensive production.

The game was tied at 68 with 6:43 left in regulation.

The score went back and forth late in the game, as neither team went on a run.

Newbern came up with huge shots late in the second half.  

Cooper stepped up their offensive output in the second half. Benilde-St. Margaret’s struggled to shoot the ball in the second half.

Cooper came up with the 88-75 victory over Benilde-St. Margret’s.

The leading scorer for Benilde-St. Margret’s was Baker with 25 points.

The leading scorers for Cooper were Beijan and Melvin Newbern each with 24 points.
