Breakdown Sports USA put on a Girls Tip Off Classic at Hopkins High School on Dec. 5. In the first game of the event Osseo went up against Eden Prairie.
It took a while for each team to get into a shooting rhythm.
Osseo started the game in a zone defense. That made Eden Prairie have to swing the ball around the 3-point line.
Both teams took a lot of time off the clock in the first half. Neither team went on a run. There were many ties and lead changes throughout the first half.
Eden Prairie was able to make layups in transition.
Eden Prairie called a timeout with 6:28 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 14, Eden Prairie 11.
Eden Prairie came up with 3-point baskets. Osseo did a good job of defending the 3-point line.
Both teams made it good passes to each other.
At halftime the score was Osseo 25, Eden Prairie 22.
As the second half got underway both teams continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition.

Osseo hit shots late in the contest. Eden Prairie struggled to shoot the ball in the second half.
Osseo came away with the 56-44 victory over Eden Prairie.
Scoring for Osseo were Kiaria Russell with 27 points, Azaria Reed with 10 points, Mikala Holmola with 9 points, Ari Jones with 6 points, and Mina Porte with 4 points.
