On Dec. 28 St. Cloud Cathedral High School hosted a boys' basketball holiday classic.
Braham and Concordia Academy Roseville squared off against each other in the first game. The game used a 35 second shot clock.
Braham started the game in a full court man-to-man defense. Braham looked to set the tempo of the game early.
Concordia’s Robie Tensaie came up with steals and turned them into layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
Concordia called a timeout with 15:42 left in the first half. The score was Braham 8, Concordia 2.
The defensive pressure that Braham applied made it difficult for Concordia to get shots off.
Braham’s Chris Olson came up with deep three-point shots. If Chris Olson didn’t think that he had a good deep shot, he would dive in for the layup.
Braham made layups in transition. They did a good job of using their speed to their advantage, as they got past their defenders.
After a slow start Concordia’s shots started falling. Concordia’s Grant Harbo came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
Chris Olson kept on coming up with shots in the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
Braham came up with steals and was able to make layups on the offensive end.
Both teams traded baskets late in the first half.
At Halftime the score was Braham 51, Concordia Academy 28.
As the second half got underway Braham continued to push the ball down the floor as they looked for mid-range jump shots and layups.
Chris Olson kept on coming up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half.
Concordia kept struggling to shoot the ball in the second half.
Braham came away with the 94-60 victory over Concordia Academy.
The leading scorer for Concordia Academy was Harbo with 18 points.
The leading scorer for Braham was Chris Olson with 35 points.
