ST. THOMAS ACADEMY WENT UP AGAINST ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE IN THE CLASS 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

St. Thomas Academy and St. Michael-Albertville went up against went against each other in the state Class 5A football tournament.
 
St. Thomas kicked off to start the game. STMA had to punt the ball on 4th down.
 
St. Thomas fumbled the ball and St. Michael came up with it. STMA found the end zone on a Eric Sjelin 9-yard run. Mitch Bourgerie extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 6:16 left in the first quarter the score was STMA 7, St. Thomas 0.
 
St. Thomas couldn’t move the ball down the field and they punted on 4th down.
 
STMA punted the ball back to St. Thomas on 4th down.
 
St. Thomas took over on their 20-yard line. St. Thomas Tommy Dolan found Mac Brown for an 83-yard touchdown reception.
 
The extra point attempt was good. With 1:57 left in the first quarter the score was tied at 7.
 
After one quarter of play the score was tied at 7.
 
On 4th-and-1 STMA punted it.
 
St. Thomas punted the ball.  
 
STMA’s Mitchell Kartis came up with a huge run for a first down. St. Thomas looked to get into the end zone and they did just that on a 4-yard run by Sean McFadden.  Brown’s extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 4:06 left in the second quarter the score was St. Thomas 14, STMA 7.
 
STMA got the ball in the end zone and they found the end zone on a 1-yard run by Kartes. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 55 seconds left in the second quarter the score was tied at 14.
 
At halftime the score was tied at 14.
 
As the third quarter got underway St. Thomas kicked off to start the quarter. St. Thomas fumbled the ball and STMA recovered.
 
STMA’s Isaiah Weston came up with a 25-yard touchdown reception from Jacob Veire. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 7:50 left in the third quarter the score was STMA 21, St. Thomas 14.
 
St. Thomas couldn’t move the ball down the field and they punted on 4th down.
 
STMA looked to get into the end zone late in the quarter.
 
After three quarters of play the score was STMA 21, St. Thomas 14.
 
STMA got into the end zone on a 1-yard touchdown run was done by Kartes.
 
The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 11:58 left in the fourth quarter the score was STMA 28, St. Thomas 14.
 
STMA punted on 4th down. St. Thomas looked to get into the end zone late in the fourth quarter. St. Thomas found the end zone on a Woody Hubble 7-yard reception from Tommy Dolan. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 4:16 left in the fourth quarter the score was STMA 28, St. Thomas 21.
 
STMA couldn’t move the ball down the field and they punted on 4th down.
 
St. Thomas tuned the ball over on downs.  
 
STMA came up with the 28-21 victory over St. Thomas Academy.
