BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S WENT UP AGAINST DELASALLE IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 23 Benilde St. Margaret’s and DeLaSalle squared off in a boys basketball game.

 

Both teams looked to set the tempo early. Benilde-St. Margaret’s got the ball into the hands of Sam Baker. Baker stepped up and came up with mid-range jump shots and three-point shots.

 

DeLaSalle’s Gabe Kalscheur came up with 3-point baskets. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

 

Benilde-St. Margaret’s Derek Drees came up with huge mid-range jump shots and three-point baskets. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

 

Benilde-St. Margaret’s called a timeout with 11:36 left in the first half. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 17, DeLaSalle 9.

 

Baker and Dress both took the ball hard to the basket and came up with huge baskets in the first half.

 

The Benilde-St. Margret’s offensive production didn’t sit well with the DeLaSalle coaching staff.

 

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 10:36 left in the first half. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 22, DeLaSalle 9.

 

Benilde-St. Margaret’s pushed the ball down the floor as they looked to score baskets in transition.

 

The DeLaSalle offense went stagnate for a period of time in the first half. They were not able to make shots that they put up.

 

Dress came up with huge 3-point baskets in the second half. Benilde-St. Margaret’s did a good job of slowing down the DeLaSalle offense in the first half.

 

The DeLaSalle offense picked up their production late in the first half.  

 

At halftime the score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 34, DeLaSalle 20.  

 

As the second half got underway Benilde-St. Margaret’s continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition.

 

Benilde St. Margaret’s called a timeout with 14:33 left in regulation. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 38, DeLaSalle 26.

 

Benilde-St. Margaret’s continued to move the ball well down the floor. As they were able to come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

 

DeLaSalle had a difficult time shooting the ball throughout the game. They didn’t give up though as they kept on shooting the ball. DeLaSalle locked on defense late in the game.

 

Kalscheur kept on coming up with shots late in the game.

 

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 3:04 left in regulation. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 61, DeLaSalle 48.

 

DeLaSalle tried to make a comeback late in the game but came up short. In a night where DeLaSalle struggled to shoot the ball throughout, Benilde-St. Margaret’s came away with the 69-52 victory over DeLaSalle.

 

The leading scorer for DeLaSalle was Kalscheur with 24 points.

 

The leading scorer for Benilde-St. Margaret’s was Baker with 24 points.
