OSSEO WENT UP EAST RIDGE IN THE CLASS 6A STATE FOOTBALL FINAL

Osseo and East Ridge squared off in the Class 6A state football finals.
 
East Ridge kicked off to start the game. Osseo kept the ball on the ground on their first drive.
 
Osseo’s Malik Gaillard passed to Damario Armstrong for a 51-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 10:40 left in the first quarter the score was Osseo 7, East Ridge 0.
 
East Ridge kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. East Ridge’s Otumos Payemanu found Sam Schiller for a 35-yard gain. On 4th-and-9 East Ridge attempted a 36-yard field goal attempt by Grant Ryerse which was good.
 
With 7:25 left in the first quarter the score was Osseo 7, East Ridge 3.
 
Osseo took over on their own 32-yard line. Osseo got the ball into the hands of Prince Kruah. Kruah.
 
Osseo fumbled the ball and East Ridge took over.
 
East Ridge kept the ball on the ground and they fumbled the ball and Osseo came up with it. Osseo kept the ball in the hands of Kruah who came up with huge runs.
 
After one quarter of play the score was Osseo 7, East Ridge 3.
 
Osseo’s Malik Gaillard came up with some big runs that ended up for a first down. Osseo turned it over on downs.
 
East Ridge looked to once again move the ball down the field. They kept the ball on the ground again. East Ridge got the ball into the hands of Sam Schiller who came up with a 23-yard touchdown reception.
 
The extra point attempt was good. With 4:45 left in the second quarter the score was East Ridge 10, Osseo 7.
 
Osseo once again moved the ball down the field by both airing it out and on the ground. Osseo went to a hurry up offense late in the second quarter. They didn’t take much time off the clock. East Ridge Marcus Haskins came up with an interception in the end zone.
 
East Ridge got the ball back on their own 20-yard line and the clock ran out on the second quarter.
 
At halftime the score was East Ridge 10, Osseo 7.
 
Osseo kicked off to start the third quarter. East Ridge kept the ball on the ground on their first drive.
 
East Ridge looked to get the ball down the field on the ground. East Ridge’s Grant Ryerse attempted a 41-yard field goal which was good.
 
With 6:23 left in the third quarter the score was East Ridge 13, Osseo 7.
 
Osseo got the ball on the hands of Kruah. Kruah came up with big runs late in the third quarter.
 
Osseo turned the ball over on downs.
 
East Ridge kept the ball on the ground as they marched down the field.
 
After three quarters of play the score was East Ridge 13, Osseo 7.
 
East Ridge fumbled the ball and they kept the ball.
 
East Ridge attempted a 22-yard field goal which was not good.
 
Osseo looked to march down the field late in the fourth quarter. Osseo tuned the ball over on downs.
 
Osseo got the ball back on downs. Osseo tried to move the ball down the field quickly.  Kruah came up with a 4-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good. With 24 seconds left in regulation the score was Osseo 14, East Ridge 13.
 
Osseo came away with the 14-13 victory over East Ridge to win the Class 6A state championship.
