MINNEAPOLIS NORTH WENT UP AGAINST MINNEOTA IN THE CLASS A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Minneapolis North and Minneota squared off at TCF Bank Stadium in the Class A state football finals.
 
Minneapolis North kicked off to start the game. Minneota started on their own 36-yard line. Minneota kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. Minneota’s Garret Hennen came up with some big rushes. Bryce Bruner came up with a 16-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 8:07 left in the first quarter the score was Minneota 7, Minneapolis North 0.
 
Minneapolis North took over on their own 36-yard line. Minneapolis North couldn’t move the ball down the field and they punted on 4th-and-16.
 
Minneota took over on their own 41-yard line. The Minneapolis North defense stepped and slowed down the Minneota offense.
 
Minneapolis North took over on their own 38-yard line. Minneapolis North’s Tyler Johnson was all over the field. He was able to get the ball to his teammates. Tyler Johnson found Issac Johnson for a 34-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was not good.
 
With 4:19 left in the first quarter the score was Minneota 7, Minneapolis North 6.
 
Minneota took over on their own 33-yard line. Minneota had troubled moving the ball down the field. On 4th-and-8 Minneota punted the ball.
 
Minneapolis North looked to move the ball down the field and Tyler Johnson came up with a 64-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was not good.
 
With 1:40 left in the first quarter the score was Minneapolis North 12, Minneota 7. That was the score after one quarter of play.
 
Minneota started deep in their own zone. Minneota mixed the running and passing attack as they looked to confuse the Minneapolis North defense.
 
Minneota kept the ball on the ground as they looked to pound out the clock. On 4th-and-5 Minneota punted the ball. They went into the bag of tricks and ended up passing the ball. Isaac Hennen came up with a 34-yard touchdown run. They faked the extra-point attempt and went for two instead which was not good.
 
With 10:08 left in the second quarter the score was Minneota 12, Minneapolis North 12.
 
The kick went into the end zone. Minneota got the ball at their own 20-yard line. Minneapolis North looked to get the ball down the field and they did that as Tyler Johnson came up with huge runs.
 
Minneapolis North turned the ball over on downs.
 
Minneota got the ball back on their own 25-yard line. Minneota’s Bryce Bruner came up with a 21-yard run for a first down. Minneota’s Alex Pohlen threw to Alex Pohlen for a 31-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 3:28 left in the second quarter the score was Minneota 20, Minneapolis North 12.  
 
Minneota tuned it over on downs. Minneapolis North’s Tyler Johnson came up with an 8-yard touchdown run. The two point conversion was not good.
 
With 33 seconds left in the second quarter the score was Minneota 20, Minneapolis North 18. That was the score at halftime.
 
Minneota kicked off to start the third quarter. Minneapolis North got the ball on their own 35-yard line. Tyler Johnson ran 17 yards for a first down run. Kori Randle came up with a 10-yard first down run. Minneapolis North continued to look to get the ball down the field. On 4th-and-6 they went for it. Minneapolis North was intercepted in the end zone by Bruner.
 
Minneota punted on 4th-and-2. Minneota recovered the punt. They took over on the Minneapolis North 45-yard line. Minneota moved the ball down the field quickly.
 
After three quarters of play the score was Minneota 20, Minneapolis North 18.
 
Minneota’s Isaac Hennen came up with a 3-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 11:18 left in third quarter the score was Minneota 27, Minneapolis North 18.
 
Minneapolis North was intercepted by Kyle Hennen. Minneota continued to get the ball down the field. Minneota came up with a touchdown on an Isaac Hennen 1-yard run. The two-point
conversion was good.
 
With 2:39 left in the game the score was Minneota 35, Minneapolis North 18.
 
Minneapolis looked to move the ball down the field. The Minneota defense made it difficult for
Minneapolis North to move the ball down the field.
 
Minneota came away with the 35-18 victory over Minneapolis North.
